The archaeological city of Carthage

Imagen
For our Last Destination we went to Carthage located on the gulf of Tunisia. The remains of this city hold it's story of Defying the great roman empire and winning a battle against them thanks to Hannibal's courage and tactical mindset. Even thought they didn't achieve victory in the war, his feat of crossing the Alps with an army of elephants is going to be engraved in history for a very long time. I was surely impressed by how well preserved the ruins were, it's as if time had stopped in that place, we could actually see how they lived, worked and how they stored the food . their simple ways of living yet intelligent made me think that they were ahead of their time, they didn't have what we do, they didn't live as comfortably as we do yet i was envious of their achievements.

Oung el Jmel

The next day we were taken to "Oung El Jmel".   The name it has is quite unique, as it comes from the fine sand, a pile of stones reminiscent of a camel's head. And, along with the dryness, the miracle of Lake Chott el Gharsa .   Honestly, the visit with the 4X4 has been a real surprise, as it is an excursion through the dunes as if you were skating on the desert sand.   And without hesitation, the best thing was the surprise of seeing that in the middle of nowhere, stands the city of Mos Espa sand with several houses built for the filming of The Phantom Menace. It is also famous for being the setting for the movie The English Patient (the actors' camp was here). In addition, to see the set of the movie Star Wars.       We bought lots of souvenirs and my mom and I were petting a Phenec , they are small and adorable.       In conclusion, I enjoyed today too much, hopefully I can repeat the experience with the 4X4!

Ksar Ghilane

The next stop was made in "Ksar Ghilane." To be more clear, it is a small oasis in the south of Tunisia. From the car you could see the orange sand dunes, extraordinarily thin, stretching for miles and miles. It was impressive when we got out of the car, my sister and I without hesitation played on the sand. Plus, we were able to explore the dunes with a camel, it was beautiful.  When we arrived at our place of stay, we saw the tents. Sometimes we imagine them as something small and uncomfortable, but it was beautiful, an elegant and comfortable place to rest. Not to mention that they had natural hot springs.  It is also worth mentioning that the food was very good, everything they offered us had a unique and tasty flavor.   In conclusion, it was one of the best days of this trip!
